When The Night Has Come.....

Night times are my FAVOURITE times of the day!!!! Why, you ask?? because they are very quiet... and solitary.... and calm... and dark!!!! I like the dark. It gives me the opportunity to be me.


Some may find it weird, but I like to emote random scenes when I am alone. I play out the various situations I have been in the past... ones that may happen in the future... and several other "if only I had said that..." moments. I dance, sing (I do.. My mother had a hard time making me shut up at night... because I would get the urge to indulge the nightingale in me, at 1 in the morning!!)


Nighttimes are comfortable. I revel in the obscurity of it all... where one is not subject to scrutiny from the world.....


I like summer nights... when there is a power-cut... and I get to sit in my balcony.. listening to the radio.... and choreographing steps to the songs being played...


I like winter nights.... because they are so quiet and I am nestled comfortably inside the warm quilt... and the world has shrunk to just one room....


I like rainy nights... when the soft patter of raindrops has a gentle, lulling effect..... when the occasional burst of thunder lights up the sky and throws a barrage of effects across the horizon.....


I like happy nights.... when I can relive particularly happy moments in the day.. spend with friends, family, Kuttan (more about him later)....


I like sad nights.... when I cry myself to sleep.... and the only solace is my blanket which wraps itself snuggly around me....


I like sleepover-nights... when there is the need to be secretive and hushed... but the efforts are all put to waste because of the topics that are being discussed.... the whispered stories.. the muted teasing... the childishness of it all....


Night cures my soul as a medicine.... and I like it!!
